There is one tag on the list that costs more and it is named where it appears.		The best place on the Internet to put a company, a catalogue, and the database behind both. Two years ago a business needed a page. This year it needs a page, a form that goes somewhere, a database behind the form, and an answer about the first of January in fourteen months. All four are on the same account, and none of them is a line item. Everything named below is on the machines now. None of it is a module we would go and fetch if somebody asked. Asking is how most of it arrived, but that part is finished. ON EVERY UNIX ACCOUNT Apache 1.3.0 went on in June. The machines are on 1.3.3 and the number will have moved again before this page does. MySQL 3.22, with mSQL left installed beside it for the accounts that already have their scripts written against mSQL. Those accounts know who they are. A component on one of these machines can be enlisted in a distributed transaction, if that is a thing you need to tell someone. Allaire Cold Fusion 4.0 is the premium tag on the NT plan. CFML is a real language and the person who did your design can read it, which is most of the argument for it. FrontPage 98 Server Extensions on both platforms. The 98 extensions do not go on top of the 97 extensions; the old set comes off first, and that is better done here at four in the morning than by you at four in the afternoon. A SERVER OF YOUR OWN A Cobalt RaQ is a blue box about the size of a large book. We rack it, run it, patch it and take the backups. RaQ 2 is the same blue with a faster processor behind it. Nothing of anybody else's runs on yours. Fully managed means the root password is ours and so is the fault. If it stops at three in the morning it has stopped for us as well.		YEAR 2000 Our servers, our routers, our billing system and the lift in this building have all been assessed. None of them stores a year as two digits. The assessment is written down, which is the part most people are asking about. THE MACHINE ROOM corvus has been retired from customer service. It runs DNS and the mailing lists now, on the grounds that it has never once stopped. Apache went from 1.3.2 to 1.3.3 on a Friday evening and nobody noticed. That is the whole of the report. 19 AUG. Console adds mailboxes on the NT plans now, three months later than we said it would.
